Growing up in St Helens, Wigan seemed exotic but John has since travelled much more.
Spare time involves gardening, swimming, reading adventure fiction, all music, good food and real ale.

Sandra has been married for 30 years, has two grown daughters and five grandchildren.
Her career has spanned working with children and adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs, palliative care and more recently catering having been here for 9 years now.. She is also a volunteer fundraiser for the RNLI and BSAC. Sandra used to enjoy orienteering and youth hostelling but took up scuba diving 3 years ago as part of her mid life crisis so now explores under the sea.
Angela has been married for 24 years (just don't tell her husband who took her this year to Istanbul for their 25th Anniversary) and is mum to two.
Growing up Angela wanted to be an architect but tech drawing clashed with shorthand. After many years working in accounts offices and solicitors Angela qualified as a health trainer 10 years ago and has been here for the last 6.
Angela has a fondness for toilet humour, especially joke poo.
Janet has been happily married for 22 years and married on the Caribbean island of Barbados. She has one son and one daughter.
Janet started her working life at St Lukes hospital working on the special care baby unit and has since worked in the community for over 19 years.
Janet enjoys walking (mainly on land) although she recently took a stroll on the seabed in Cyprus. She has also ticked skydiving off her bucket list after completing a tandem dive from 12,000 feet over Bridlington.
Tony has been happily married for 30 years and is a father to three children and grandfather to three.
Growing up Tony wanted to be a painter and decorator but trained instead as a coach trimmer.
Tony has been with the project for eighteen years, starting as a volunteer driver and states that he is still here simply because he hasn't found the exit door yet.
Tony is a keen photographer in his spare time, a hobby he would love to turn into a business when he eventually retires to Whitby.
Greg has been happily married for 30 years and has two sons who have grown and flown and two grandchildren.
Growing up in the sunshine of the Caribbean somehow inspired Greg to dream of the fog and rain of Yorkshire and he has been here since leaving the RAF. Greg discovered community work late in life, first working first for the RAC, then the police and Royal Mail when he left the forces.
