The Rockwell Centre is a unique initiative, managed by Thorpe Edge Community Project, which offers a wide range of activities, groups, services and opportunities for people to improve their lifestyle, their health & sense of wellbeing.
We engage directly with families on low-incomes, children, young people, elderly people, lone parents and disabled people to support them and meet expressed needs.
Our approach is holistic and fun. We tackle isolation, encourage social contact, promote physical activities and healthy eating, offer training and volunteering opportunities, involving the community in running the services.
Thorpe Edge Community Project establishes all services and projects in response to needs identified by the local community and our which is the foundation stone on which the organisation is built. Our partnership with other local service providers and funders has also proved crucial and none of the valuable work carried out by Thorpe Edge Community Project could take place without the support of our Funders which include:- Bradford Metropolitan District Council, Public Health: The Big Lottery: The Henry Smith Charity: Garfield Weston Foundation:The Postcode Lottery: The Sobell Foundation.

The majority of the projects and services also have active Steering or Stakeholder Groups comprising users and partners, to ensure the work continues to be fully responsive to the needs of beneficiaries, whether individuals, groups, families or communities.
The Management Committee meets bi-monthly and receives progress reports from the Senior Management Team. Sub Groups also meeting bi monthly and reporting to the Board include Finance; Policies and Personnel and Safeguarding.
The Thorpe Edge Community Project Management Committee or Board of Trustees/Directors is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting by the members, who comprise the community groups served by the organisation.

TECP ensures robust and accountable governance with effective monitoring and financial procedures and regularly updated policies including Safeguarding; Health and Safety; Environmental.
